osition Overview

The Site Supervisor is responsible for the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of commercial fitout and refurbishment projects across Victoria. Working closely with the Project Manager and wider project team, you will coordinate subcontractors, manage day-to-day site operations and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to Intermain's quality standards.

This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple trades within live operating environments while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and client satisfaction.

You will be responsible for supervising projects across a diverse portfolio, including:

  • Commercial office fitouts and workplace refurbishments
  • Corporate headquarters
  • Healthcare and hospital refurbishments
  • Education and university facilities
  • Retail and shopping centre upgrades
  • Government and public sector projects
  • Industrial and logistics facilities
  • Defence and secure environments
  • Hospitality and hotel refurbishments
  • End-of-trip facilities and amenities upgrades
  • Building repositioning and lobby refurbishments
  • Occupied and live environment projects

Projects typically range from $500K to $20M+.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day site operations from commencement through to practical completion.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to programme.
  • Plan daily and weekly site activities to maintain project milestones.
  • Ensure all works comply with WHS legislation, company policies and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and pre-start meetings.
  • Monitor workmanship to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and quality standards.
  • Manage site logistics, deliveries and material coordination.
  • Identify and proactively resolve construction issues to minimise delays.
  • Coordinate inspections, consultants and authority approvals.
  • Maintain accurate site records including daily diaries, quality inspections and safety documentation.
  • Assist the Project Manager with programme updates, reporting and project forecasting.
  • Build positive relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and professional site at all times.
  • Successfully deliver projects within occupied and live operating environments while minimising disruption.

Skills & Experience

  • Trade qualification in Carpentry or Building (preferred).
  • Previous experience supervising commercial fitout and refurbishment projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and commercial building practices.
  • Experience managing multiple trades and subcontractors simultaneously.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and construction drawings.
  • Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Experience working on projects in live environments is highly regarded.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, HammerTech or similar.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Carpentry or relevant trade qualification.
  • Certificate IV in Building & Construction (desirable).
  • White Card (Construction Induction).
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • First Aid Certificate (preferred).
