3D Recruitment is working with a leading Victorian commercial builder to appoint an experienced OHS Manager to oversee health, safety and wellbeing across a diverse portfolio of major construction projects. This is a senior opportunity for a safety professional looking to take ownership of safety strategy, systems and performance within a well-resourced and established construction business..

THE ROLE
  • Lead the organisation's OHS function across a portfolio of major construction projects.
  • Develop, implement and continuously improve health and safety strategies, systems and processes.
  • Provide senior-level advice to Project Managers, Site Managers and leadership teams on safety matters.
  • Monitor project compliance against legislation, company standards, policies and contractual requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits and reviews to identify hazards, trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee the investigation of incidents, near misses and safety events, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
  • Drive consistent safety practices across projects and support project teams in achieving strong safety outcomes.
  • Review and improve SWMS, risk assessments, safety plans and associated project documentation.
  • Work closely with construction teams to identify emerging risks and implement practical controls.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, consultants, regulators and relevant project representatives.
  • Monitor safety performance, reporting trends and providing meaningful insights to senior management.
  • Support the development of a proactive safety culture focused on accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Keep the business informed of changes to legislation, industry standards and emerging safety risks.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to safety personnel across the project portfolio.

YOU
  • Senior OHS/WHS experience within the commercial construction industry.
  • Proven experience overseeing safety across multiple complex construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Victorian OHS legislation, regulations and construction safety requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior project teams and drive safety performance.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, incident investigation, auditing and compliance.
  • Experience developing and implementing safety systems, procedures and initiatives.
  • Confident engaging with Project Managers, Site Managers, subcontractors and senior leadership.
  • Excellent communication, reporting and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Commercially minded with a practical approach to construction safety.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build credibility across project teams.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in OHS, WHS, Safety or a related discipline.
  • Relevant industry certifications and professional memberships will be highly regarded..
