THE COMPANY
Defects division of a Melbourne based commercial builder, working across handed over apartment developments in Melbourne’s inner northern suburbs. With a team member away for a few weeks, they need a reliable person who can start ASAP and manage themselves independently.
WHAT YOU GET
You’ll travel between occupied apartments, completing defect repairs and leaving each home clean and tidy. Depending on the day, your duties may include:

- 2.7% Leave Plus Long Service Leave (Coinvest)
- $22.41 daily travel allowance
- Weekly pay
- Immediate start with around 2.5 weeks of work
- Potential for further work if it’s a good fit
You’ll travel between occupied apartments, completing defect repairs and leaving each home clean and tidy. Depending on the day, your duties may include:
- Fixing and adjusting doors, hardware, cabinetry and trims
- Patching, minor repairs and general carpentry
- Working through a defects list and recording completed jobs
- Dealing with residents politely and respectfully
- Keeping work areas clean and following site safety procedures
We’re interested in people who are practical, dependable and good with people, as you’ll be working inside other people’s homes.
- Previous experience as a carpenter, maintenance carpenter or handyman, ideally in defect or building maintenance work
- Presentable, professional and confident dealing with residents
- Own tools and reliable transport
- White Card
- Good timekeeping, and a proactive attitude
- Trade qualification
