THE ROLE:
As a Design Manager, you will be required to conduct the following;
- Lead design from pre-construction to completion. Literally 50% documentetd projects that you take and run with to completion.
- Collaborate with Business Development for innovative design strategies.
- Liaise with Services Managers, Design Coordinators and Graduates to assit on your projects.
- Review and optimize structural and civil designs.
- Manage project design consultant team.
- Develop procurement strategies and provide clear direction.
- Ensure designs align with project scope and requirements.
- Create and manage pre-construction program.
- Oversee Safety in Design Risk Assessments.
- Work with Construction Delivery team on subcontractor selection.
- Drive integrated project design and resolution.
- Build relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain efficient design review processes.
- Conduct client design meetings and maintain design integrity.
- Manage design budget and fees.
- Improve design management procedures.
- Mentor project delivery team in design principles.
YOU - Architectural background but must have 3+ years working for a builder in a Design Coordinator/Manager capacity
- Experience working on projects as highlighted above
- Competent at managing risk and negotiating well for the builder
- Exceptional knowledge and experience working for a head contractor/builder in Australia
